Southern Peach Citrus Sangria

July 11, 2013

Peach SangriaWe all patiently wait for Thursday to roll around for 2 reasons: 1) Happy Hour is completely justified, and 2) it means Friday is very close. I see these as perfectly good reasons to love the second T-Day of the week. In honor of the tradition we have started just a few short weeks ago, I would love to share with you one my favorite cocktail recipes. Sangria is always a no-brainer when looking for something fruity to sip, but I bet you haven't had the souther twist version! Today I dare you to venture out of your comfort zone and shake up (or in this case stir up) something a little different. Enjoy the recipe with instructions below. Cheers!

Ingredients:

2 cups Riesling wine
2 cups grapefruit juice
1/2 cup orange liquor
2 cups champagne
Fresh citrus slices such as lemons, oranges, grapefruit, clementine
Fresh mint for garnish

Instructions:

1.  Mix Riesling wine, grapefruit juice, orange liquor and citrus slices.  Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

2.  At time of service, mix in champagne and stir.  Pour sangria and garnish with fresh citrus slice and a sprig of mint.
