Tis' the season to get into the festive spirit! Personally, we were tired of the same ole' pumpkin carving & paint designs. We decided to add some spice to our pumpkins this year by channeling Moroccan themes. Who doesn't love a trendy pumpkin!? This year we were going for more of a decor piece rather than a traditional (throw it out in a few days) kind of piece. We had a blast creating these beautiful designs. So, with that said grab a cup of pumpkin juice & your best witches for a festive night of fun & Moroccan design. Read below for all the details.
Supplies:
-white pumpkins (we had to use a large orange one also, since large white ones are hard to find)
-chalk paint in a cream color
-large paint brush
-clothing paint: black, white, silver, & brown
-coin jewelry (for props)
Instructions:
-After you've gathered the supplies, you first create a base color on the pumpkins. Use the chalk paint to give some color differentiation.
-Once dried, use the clothing paint to create henna-like designs. You can choose to just design around the stem, but if you're feeling very crafty... you can continue the pattern all the way down the pumpkin. (A tedious task but so worth it in the end.)
Our favorite aspect of the Moroccan pumpkin decorating was how no pumpkin was alike. We had different sizes & different designs that gave each pumpkin more character ;)
